Miss Teenage Canada organization teaches young girls to be our own kind of beautiful, by embracing our quirks and qualities that allows each of us to shine in our own way. Beauty has become so standardized, saying that beauty is being a size 0 or 6 feet tall. In reality beauty is being able to love yourself unconditionally and not only accept, but OWN your insecurities and “flaws” because those are the things that make us unique and uniqueness is what makes us individually beautiful.
Confidence is beauty, intelligence is beauty, and compassion is beauty. The Miss Teenage Canada organization proves that beauty is not only about aesthetics, but what is also on the inside. We get to see the individual beauty on the inside of each delegate in the ways in which they use their titles, whether it is to promote and help charities, bring attention to societal issues or be the voice for someone who has yet to find theirs.
I am so honoured to have been given the opportunity by Sign Source Solution and the Miss Teenage Canada Organization to create a roll up banner for Miss Teenage Canada. The mantra “Be Your Own Kind of Beautiful” has stuck out to me, I feel that this inspirational phrase represents what the MTC organization and experience is about and should be proudly displayed on the banner. Thank you MTC for showing me what it means to embrace being my own kind of beautiful!
